April Reese
April handles the 6-11 p.m. shift on 98.1 Radio Free Santa Fe. While she obviously has a nocturnal streak, April spends her days (at least during the week) reporting on Western environmental issues for various publications, including High Country News, Backpacker magazine, the Denver Post, New Mexico Business Weekly and an online environmental news service based in Washington, D.C. called Land Letter.
When she's not holed up in her home office or in the KBAC studio, she seeks out human interaction at concerts, KBAC events, art galleries and Trader Joe's and critter interaction in the Pecos Wilderness (although occasionally she does encounter a prairie dog or two in the KBAC parking lot). Depending on what mood she's in, you'll find anything from Led Zeppelin to Emmylou Harris to Death Cab for Cutie playing on her iPod.
